The 4,000-acre Kankakee River State Park envelopes both sides of the Kankakee River for 11 miles, and is located northwest of Kankakee. It begins at the Davis Creek area on the north side of the river and travels to the Chippewa Campground. At one point it crosses a suspension bridge. In addition to biking, there are 12 miles of cross country ski trails, a 3 mile hiking trail with view of limestone canyons and a frothy waterfall, and 12-miles of equestrian trails.Setting: Wooded, Open Spaces
