The North Branch Bicycle Trail is located in northeastern Cook County, and extends from the Chicago Botanic Gardens to Caldwell and Devon Avenues in Chicago. The trail winds along the North Branch of the Chicago River and the Skokie Lagoons, providing access to various picnic groves and communities. The trail is 10-feet wide, with one of the heaviest uses in the Chicago metro area. Toilets, water pumps and picnic areas are found in most groves along the trails. Some have shelters. There is also an 8-mile unpaved trail running along the river.Setting: Wooded, Open Spaces
