Cinder Path is built on old railbed between Chariton and Humeston. The trail is lined with native Iowa timber, prairie areas and abundant wildlife. Cinder Path is Iowa's first rail-trail. The path includes 16 wooden bridges, a covered bridge and a 20-foot lookout tower. Snowmobiling is only allowed on the Lucas County trail segment.Setting: Wooded, Prairie
