Trail Notes: The Hoover Nature Trail is located in southeast Iowa, and is built along an abandoned railroad right-of-way. When completed it will span 6 counties and 16 towns from Cedar Rapids to Burlington with a length of 115 miles. Some areas along the Hoover Nature Trail are heavily timbered, and in a few places the trailway hugs a wooded bluff along the Iowa River. West Branch, one of the cities it runs throug, is the birthplace of our 31st president and trail namesake, Herbert Hoover.Setting: Wooded, Open Spaces, Prairie, Farmland
