The Sauk Rail Trail runs between Swan Lake State Park and Lake View. Its 33-miles consists of natural prairies, wetlands, farmland and timber areas and is mostly built on abandoned railbed. Depending on the activities you plan to take part in while along the trail, you may need to look into hiking equipment lease information to make sure you're fully prepared. The 13-mile mid-section of the trail from Maple River to Carnarvon follows a valley floor.
