Yellow River State Forest is located in the northeast corner of the state. The biking trail is a segment of abandoned railbed. The forest covers some 6,500-acres. There are also fire lanes and logging roads that are not part of the trail system. The trail is signed, but following a road or fence will also lead you out. Effigy Mounds National Monument is not far south. Drinking water is available only at the sawmill and headquarters area.Setting: Wooded, Open Spaces
